Colin Jimmy is a proud Gurindji Mudburra man, born at Wave Hill Settlement on Gurindji Country. Colin learned painting when he was in prison. It changed his life. He learned from fellow inmates and studied text books first, sketching with pencils and the moved to painting. Colin has renewed motivation to paint his stories. Instead of wasting time, he now fills it with his artwork. Colin is looking forward to painting his stories.
Sometimes Colin enjoys to paint the traditional stories passed down from his mother, Biddy Wavehill Nangala, the Traditional Owner for Hooker Creek.
