At school, art was Cecelia’s favourite subject. Cecelia finished Year 11 at Kalkaringi School. She also learned art at Daguragu Art and Craft Centre. She loves to do her own painting and helps out with others, encouraging them to paint straight onto the canvas and talking about how the Dreaming effects them.
Cecelia knows the Dreaming stories very well because she listened well as she was told the stories by her family Elders. Cecelia’s designs are different to others in the local community as she loves to read books and look at art in other communities. She enjoys being experimental with her art and designs.
Cecelia assists with language translation and often works with visiting linguists on language and culture projects. She is currently employed as the Community Development Employment Program as a supervisor.
